Brenda has spent the past four years as the head web desinger for The Small Business Authority headquartered in New York City. She works with a great web development team. She ues a custom built PHP CMS (content management system) to design HTML/CSS templates, websites and maintain 500 plus partner websites for The Small Business Authority.
Brenda uses Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash to create graphics and animation. She also uses Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SharePoint Designer, PowerPoint and Excel to develop websites and project manage. Brenda is a front end designer, and her focus is on user experience and web analytics.

For small businesses that want to update thier websites by themselves I reccomend using a CMS like WordPress, Drupal or SiteCenter. After the site is set up in a CMS we train their staff how to make changes.

The Small Business Authority is a content rich, lead generation and resource site for small business owners. It will replace the product description, corporate brochure site for Newtek Business Services. As lead web designer and art director my responsibilities included, initial market reseearch, defining business goals, research, presenting the initial concept, project planning, user interface requirements, technical requirements, wireframes, site maps, and team building. Then I helped guide the developers creating this site. We are using WordPress CMS. We started in May 2010 and will launch in January 2011. |

Newtek Business Services provides merchant processing, business lending, insurance and web hosting to thousands of business in America. We have over 400 alliance partners, mostly Credit Unions, who offer our "best of class" business services to their clients via a co-branced business portal linked off of their website. I design and manage all 480 portals with a custom built PHP CMS content management system that uses tokens and HTML templates. |

Jaxderm.com is a website I helped develop for Academic Dermatology Consultants fromerly Dr. Bernheart Dermatology in 2010. They wanted a site that their office staff could update themselves that also had a store for their skin products. I reccomened they use Newtek SiteCenter. Newtek SiteCenter is perfect for the small business that has a few (1 to 50) items to sell. It's an all-in-one ecommerce solution with a great no-fee merchant account, shopping cart, website and secure hosting. |

My flash intro, web design and SEM was used from 2008 to 2010. Then they moved to a CMS that the new management and tattoo artist liked. The new URL is nyhctattoo.com NYHC Tattoos was founded by Jimmy Gestapo from Murphy's Law and Vinnie Stigma from Agnostic Front, two legends in New York Hardcore music. The tattoo shop is a landmark in the lower East side of New York City. The redesign was completed in 01/08. We launched a music community off this site called NYHC4LIFE in April of 2008 that has incresed the site traffic by 50%. |

I used KickApps to develop this online community called NYHC4LIFE.com for the NYHC Tattoos website. (New York Hardcore For Life) Launched April 1, 2008, the community now has members from all over the world. This site is very niche, purely for fans of hardcore punk music. The sites goal is not to have the most members but to serve it's members by promoting the music and lifestyle. |

This started as a simple landing page and turned into a small site for Captain Warren who charters off shore fishing trips. Completed 08/07, updated 06/08. They updated the site by themselves and have messed up the meta tags and doc type. :( |
